What is nirvana? - Spiritually awakened people

Here is an example of a spiritually awakened person in Japan.

There was a famous old monk. He was ninety-three years old and had been practicing Zen meditation all his life, and was saying that he had reached nirvana. One day, He felt sick so went to see a doctor. And the doctor found out that the old monk had a cancer.

The Doctor thought that, as this old monk is the one who had reached nirvana, a noble minded person who is spiritually awakened, so it might be no problem to tell him the truth. The doctor therefore told the old monk saying;

"You have a cancer."

Then, the old monk was so shocked that killed himself out of despair three days later.

The risk of the informed consent of cancer notification was started being taken into consideration in Japan because of this incident. But anyway, it was true that the old monk was insisting that he had reached nirvana and was spiritually awakened. But after all, "reached nirvana" is simply "got high", so when he came back to normal, he was just a human being. So when he was diagnosed as having a cancer, he was shocked, and despaired of life, and committed suicide. He despaired of life because he was still attached to his life even though he was ninety-three years old already. Generally speaking, spiritually awakened people are not supposed to be attached to life, no matter how young or old they are, anyway.

When you got high, you feel great and can see everything so clearly, and can see other people's mind, with illusions or delusions or whatever, so you feel like you understand everything.

In the old days when people have no idea about "brain hormone", a person in India or somewhere around there practiced meditation under a tree, tried to be away from the pains and desires and grudges and agonies and angers and so on in this world, and chanted mantras and practiced Tanden breathing and released alpha waves and so on and so on, then finally got high, reached the bottomless sky state of mind, and could see other people's mind and feel like understood everything in this world, and so surprised that called that high a nirvana. Then people around the world marveled at it and, in order to reach that state of mind, loads of grown-up people are sitting down all day long and killing time for nothing ever since until nowaday.

Phew.

So what's the point? I have no idea. Read between the lines.

Talk to you later.
