Let's go over the last lesson a bit first:
Human's Ki energy is produced when the blood runs in capillaries throughout the body. When you get nervous, capillaries in the body are closed and blood traffic jam is caused. So you need to relax in order to produce Ki energy in your body.
In this section, you will learn how to relax physically. When you can relax your body, it will make you mentally relax as a matter of course.
All right, here we go.
It's quite easy 3 steps;
1. Direct your attention to Tanden (About two to three inches below the navel.).
2. Inhale air slowly, feeling as though drawing the air down into Tanden.
3. Exhale slowly, feeling of spreading the air drawn into Tanden throughout your body.
That's all.
Basically, simple deep breathing make your body relax. The technique explained above is the way how to relax your body more effectively than simple deep breathing does.
First, when you focus your attention on Tanden, the blood pushed up and concentrated in the brain caused by nervousness goes down to lower part of your body. This first step alone could make half of your goal (to relax) achieved.
Next, inhaling air with the feeling of drawing air down into Tanden make your Tanden open, that is to say, it opens capillaries in the small intestine, and consequently the blood will go down and be concentrated on the small intestine. This step make your Tanden filled with Ki energy.
Then, by releasing the breath with the feeling of spreading the Ki energy filled in Tanden throughout the body, capillaries in all part of the body including inner organs open, and blood comes down more from the brain and make you relax as a matter of course.
Now, blood circulation in your whole body is increased, and more Ki energy is produced.
Your body will be filled with plenty of Ki energy accordingly.
Most breathing methods nowadays are established based on this technique.
There are loads of books available about breathing methods, and there are various kinds (or names) of techniques. But those are all quite similar actually, and the effects of those exercise are not much different from each other.
But still, Zo-Kiko Tai Chi would like to present a series of breathing lessons.
Sit back, RELAX, and enjoy Zo-Kiko Tai Chi breathing lessons.
