The relationship between the spirit (soul) and Ki energy is an indispensable issue here.
The spirit is a form of energies consists of thoughts. Which means it is a mass of energetic vibrations (Hado).
Accordingly, once you master how to manipulate Ki energy, some of you, more or less, can see or feel the spirits, although its shapes or images look differently to each person who sees or feels it.

In mass media in Japan, people who claim themselves to be psychic mediums give fear-arousing comments such as "You will be under the curse of an evil spirit if you do not buy this or that" and make a large profit.
Please do not be trapped and do not pay them unreasonable amount of money. You do not need to be scared by something or somebody that is dead already.
I have no idea how it is in other countries but in Japan, those psychic medium's sales messages are like "You are in trouble and have bad luck because you set your grandfather's tombstone in wrong way" or "You will die soon because you forgot to hold a memorial service for a departed soul (ancestor's)". Japanese are extremely frightened by the curse of an ancestor's spirit.
Again, you do not need to be scared by somebody who is dead already.
It contradicts the universal law and principle: self-preservation and the instinct of propagation. What on earth dead people roots out their own breed with a reason that they don't like their tombstone or their memorial service was not held for? It only leads to human extinction. They must know universal laws and principles more than we living people do, even if they were terrible or stupid or something like that in this world. Ancestors in the heaven wish happiness and prosperity of their descendants. They cannot be stupid in the heaven.
DNA inside of you which you have inherited your ancestor matters much more than the curse of ghosts. It determines your life and can never be changed. That's the curse on you.
Well, recently, it is possible to control DNA scientifically already, right?
